Born in Riverside, CA, Brian started home brewing at seventeen years old in his parents’ kitchen because he wasn’t old enough to purchase it himself.
After pursuing a degree in Business at UC Riverside, Brian decided to follow his true passion and enrolled in the UC Davis Master Brewer’s Program in 2003. Brian began his commercial brewing career at PH Woods in Moreno Valley and Babe’s BBQ in Rancho Mirage under the tutelage of multiple award-winning brewer, Hans Johnson. Brian also completed and passed the rigorous coursework for the Institute of Brewers and Distillers Associate Membership Exam.
Brian then became Brewmaster at Riverside Brewing Company where he developed his style and passion for beer making. Brian was then selected as a Brewer for the incredibly successful Stone Brewing Company in Escondido, CA. It was here that he learned attention to detail, consistency in production, impeccable sanitation standards, and recipe design through working with true beer experts.
Brian has a commitment to fresh, local, West Coast flavors that runs deep, and while he is a big West Coast IPA fan, the endless possibilities found within the experimental and barrel-aged beer categories are also a huge influence on Brian’s brewing style. He is constantly working to bring the freshest quality ingredients to his carefully crafted beers.
