Born in Riverside, CA, Brian started home brewing at seventeen years old in his parents’ kitchen because he wasn’t old enough to purchase it himself.
After pursuing a degree in Business at UC Riverside, Brian decided to follow his true passion and enrolled in the UC Davis Master Brewer’s Program in 2003. Brian began his commercial brewing career at PH Woods in Moreno Valley and Babe’s BBQ in Rancho Mirage under the tutelage of multiple award-winning brewer, Hans Johnson. Brian also completed and passed the rigorous coursework for the Institute of Brewers and Distillers Associate Membership Exam.
Brian then became Brewmaster at Riverside Brewing Company where he developed his style and passion for beer making. Brian was then selected as a Brewer for the incredibly successful Stone Brewing Company in Escondido, CA. It was here that he learned attention to detail, consistency in production, impeccable sanitation standards, and recipe design through working with true beer experts.
Brian has a commitment to fresh, local, West Coast flavors that runs deep, and while he is a big West Coast IPA fan, the endless possibilities found within the experimental and barrel-aged beer categories are also a huge influence on Brian’s brewing style. He is constantly working to bring the freshest quality ingredients to his carefully crafted beers.
Jack’d up Wheat
With our Spring seasonal release we decided to do something that we have never had anywhere… a Belgian-Style wheat beer with fresh Jackfruit and locally-sourced Loquats. We kept it mellow so you could have a few of these, but the tropical fruit nose and creamy texture of this beer adds something unique. We hope you like it. ABV 5.3% IBU: 11
Death or Glory IPA
This IPA series highlights a single hop for each new batch. This time around it was made with Centennial hops. Floral and citrusy, this quintessential hop makes its way into many of your favorite IPAs out there. A generous portion of British Maris Otter Pale Ale malt creates a slightly fuller body and nice backbone for the hops. ABV 6.8% IBU: 60 / $7
Altered State IPA
A West-Coast style IPA using British Golden Promise pale ale malt and a touch of light caramel malt. Hopped with Citra and NZ Nelson Sauvin in the boil and the dry-hop. Citrus, tropical fruit, and a punchy white-wine grape dominates the flavor profile. 7.4% abv, 55 IBUs / $7
As elusive as its namesake, this belgian-inspired dark ale will keep you guessing. It cannot be classified, it escapes all restrictions and confines. Is it a porter? A belgian strong ale? Who cares what you call it. Its toffee, caramel and chocolate deliciousness will have you staring at the skies wanting more. 8% abv 25 IBU: $7
This session-style IPA features all the flavor of an IPA with slightly lower alcohol content. Dry-hopped with a full two pounds of Amarillo hops per barrel there is no mistaking that this beer loves it’s hops. Tropical, floral and citrusy, the Misfit will quench your IPA thirst while allowing you to remain vertical after multiple pints! ABV 5.7% IBU: 50 / $6
Oats of Birmingham
An English-Style Brown ale made from traditional pale and specialty malts but with an addition of malted crystal oats for a nutty flavor. We went big on the malt, carmel, and toasty flavors on this bad boy. This beer pays homage to all of the musical and artistic talent that has risen from the working-class neighborhoods in and around Birmingham, England…..ever heard of Black Sabbath, The Beatles, or J. R. R. Tolkien? 4.8% ABV, 18 IBUs / $6
